sorry its been a while since I've posted (I'm apologizing to my only follower, whom probably doesn't even stay current with following my blog, but still, i really wish i would've gotten around to posting this earlier)
Autism is a developmental disorder that affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills.
Such people with these disorders are often forced to be in normal social environments with such cruel people (teenagers) that don't fully understand the extent of their condition.
They're often ridiculed, exiled, and discriminated against, by their peers, just because of a disorder they cannot help but have.
We don't have to show them "Special Treatment," sure maybe to a certain extent in regards to education?, but THEY ARE HUMAN BEINGS, just because they have a form of diagnosis doesn't mean that they're any less Homosapien than the person next to them.
Just the other day, I had the wonderful opportunity to talk to this delightful young man who just-so-happened to have the label 'Autistic.' We sat down, and had an ever-so-lovely conversation about Unicorns. The most interesting thing I took from this conversation, is that out of most of the guys I have Ever talked to, He was one of the most courteous, interesting, intelligent, etc.
And then that just made me feel terrible for falling victim to believing 'disorder stereotypes.' That like "People With Autism Are Incapable of Having Intelligent Conversations."
It's bad enough with Regular stereotypes circulation 'emo' 'prep' 'jock' etc..
but with things like those?
questioning ones intelligence?
Its Wrong
And People do it all the time, with no regards to whether or not if its good or bad, true or false. I DO IT. Unintentionally, intentionally. I stereotype, I Judge, I'm Getting off topic
